This was the story of Chintu. Now I will tell my story…..
Challenges and struggles are a part of everyone’s life. The challenges we face throughout our lives make us the person we are. I come from a small village in Maharashtra, where basic amenities like sanitation, healthcare and education are scarcely available. Though I had very limited access to the facilities, the situation taught me how to extract maximum output from limited resources by analysing situation and planning for the worst. 12 years of education at the place really helped me grow as a person and remain humble. When I started perusing my graduation, I realised that there is a big gap between the soft skills I possess and that of required by the corporate world. I was left far behind in the competition as compared to those who had easy access to the resources. But, the never give up attitude which I learnt from my childhood helped me work hard towards soft skills development and not only adjust to the competition but become one of the top performers.
Another challenge I faced while working for a Guinness World Record event was- I had to mentor children with intellectual disability as a part of an NGO. It was a tough task and required patience, but because of my inclination towards giving back to society, I planned it properly and managed to guide them. All these situation instilled a broader perspective in me and made me feel confident for any upcoming challenges. Also, I learnt that however tough the challenge might be, there is always a way to overcome it with hard work, patience and perseverance.
