PATIENCE IS THE PATH TO SUCCESS: MY STORY OF OVERCOMING MY FEAR
The toughest job in the world is not to convince the society, but to convince oneself.
I have been brought up in a family where I was never pressurized for studying. My childhood was very different from that of my friends. While my friends were severely punished for their mischiefs and lack of interest in studies, I was always motivated to study when I wanted to.
This continued throughout and I started believing that it was my duty to perform well as my parents were too supportive. I aced 10th, 12th and Graduation and then the bigger picture of my life began. I started preparing for CAT. This was the first time I started feeling insecured about my performance. I took several mocks in which I under performed. This led to a constant fear in my mind. A fear of ‘what if’ I fail. A fear of ‘what if’ I disappoint my parents. This fear insisted me to join M.Sc instead of MBA as I thought I won’t be able to clear CAT and I already had admission offer in M.Sc from my Undergraduate University. As people usually tend to choose the easier path, I too made up my mind and decided to join M.Sc.
But this decision did not give me the satisfaction which I always believed in. I had always dreamt of studying in a premier B-School and I could not let one wrong decision ruin my career. This was the moment when I had to be patient and deal with my fear.
I took a gap of few days and introspected myself properly. I made myself believe that I should keep my spirit high and keep preparing as hard as I could because Success come to those who have Patience.
I soon resumed my preparation and scored well enough to be qualified for the further rounds. I wore my VAN HEUSEN Formal Suit on the Interview Day and it helped me being comfortable and confident. Even here, Aditya Birla Group was a major part of my day and helped me achieve my dream.
