ABG played a very important role in my life from cements to telecom, but I will focus on telecom because of the simple fact that the first SIM card that I used was of the same company (first love). Also having a little work experience in the telecom sector, I am obliged to focus on telecom.
With 1,850 MHz of total spectrum holding, over 200,000 unique GSM sites and ~235,000 kms of fibre, the company offers superior voice and broadband connectivity across India, covering 92 per cent of the population and reaching nearly 500,000 towns and villages.
Over 19% of Idea-owned telecom towers were operated by hybrid power, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 52,000 tons per annum.
In today’s era where there is a cut throat competition among various telecom operators, it has shaped lives of millions of people by providing cellular network at a cheaper rate.
With the 5G roll out and Voda Idea merger, I believe ABG will try to reach more and more people base and provide data services at an affordable rate which would eventually help India in moving a step forward in the path of development. I pretty much believe that ABG will play an important part in achieving the mission of 2030 Developed nation.
