Why Aditya Birla Is Big In My Life?
Aditya Birla Group is easily one institution that has touched lives of billions across the world. With prominent presence across 35 major countries, Aditya Birla Group has certainly lived up to its mission of delivering superior value to its customers, shareholders, employees and society at large. Be it infrastructure, fashion, telecom, capital & financial services, Aditya Birla has been an important part of my life.
I did not have much idea of corporate and business groups, until I reached under graduation. This is when I met people from different state and diverse groups. As I gained knowledge about how business is run in this country, I found Aditya Birla is one of the common elements which has transformed life for the all the people during that time. In my college campus, Vodafone was the only telecom network which provided seamless connectivity throughout the campus. Me along with many of my friends switched to Vodafone during that time, and we have been served with excellent consumer experience that most of us are still with Vodafone 8 years down the line. Same is the case with the apparel I use in my day to day life. Most of my clothing comes from Pantaloons, and the quality of product it offers has is undoubtedly the best in its segment. I have clothing which are as old as 3-4 years and they still look as good as new.
Quality is one aspect that Aditya Birla Group has never compromised on. Be it from facilitating daily needs through MORE, or providing financial service through Aditya Birla Capital, or becoming the backbone of the Indian infrastructure growth through UltraTech cement, Aditya Birla Group is a company which has not only impacted my life but has affected lives of many Indians and the society we live in, at large.
How Have I Made An Impact?
This world is turning into a place where class disparity is increasing with passing time. Even though the standard of living is increasing, and the financial indexes are improving, but the world isn’t getting better with reflection to that. Poverty, hunger, education, all these basic societal issues are still in a key area of concern for us.
I have been blessed with few opportunities to do my bit towards the society, and give back what I have received. I used to volunteer in my college, and our volunteer group decided to teach students from underprivileged background, mostly son/daughter of fishermen, as my college was located in the Western Coast of India. We named this activity as Beach School, and everyday we would gather around beach to teach these kids whatever we could to help them understand more about world. We did some fund raiser activity to get these kids solar lamps, school stationary to aid their study as they had no access to electricity. We worked hard with these kids for months, and one of the had 10th board exam that year. He was a very sharp kid and used to surprise us with his learning ability. After all the hard work he had put into his studies, he excelled in his class 10th result with flying colors.
That was the day, I felt the feeling of accomplishment for the first time. I realized that my action matters, and I too can make an impact in this society and make a change.
