I can say this is the best interview I have given compared to the 15 others. Starting with the interactive platform (GATHER) where the Adcom team guided us to the respective table to wait, the document verification room, to the interview panel room, and playing my favourite cartoon Tom & Jerry which relieved the interview tension and also providing games to play after the interview altogether is a different experience. The senior who guided our table was very patient in repeating the instructions so that we don't miss anything.
I was the first one on my table to go to the interview panel. The panellists were two alumni (A) and one finance professor (P). Here are few interesting questions apart from self-introduction and work experience related ones.
P: What is the economic survey? Budget? Difference and who presented it?
Me: Answered.
P: What is NCLT? What does it do?
Me: National company law tribunal. When companies are winding up they give fair justice to all stake holders. This is all I could recollect.
P: 1 simple math puzzle. How to get number 120 using 5 zeroes and any mathematical operations.
Me: To my surprise I was able to get the answer using factorial.
P: India's GDP? China's GDP?
Me: Answered approximate values.
A: What happens if exchange rate increase? Currently 1$=73 INR right. What if it goes to 85 INR
Me: Tried to answer with impact on imports and exports prices.
A: Name few women entrepreneurs you look up to and their qualities
Me: Answered. I was expecting this question due to my stint in E-Cell in college.
A: Ethical dilemma question: Which company will you choose to become the CEO. ITC (where tobacco products share is 40%) or PepsiCo (which sells sugary carbonated drinks)
Me: Answered ITC backing up with some reasons.
A: Business is all about profit and loss. Will you get compromised to sell unhealthy products for more profits?
Me: Answered No. Business is about the impact you make on society to sustain.
A: Tell me 3 factors you consider before starting a business.
Me: Answered
I was also asked about my start-up internship experience and if I have any start-up idea.
