My Internship was at IndianMoney.com. Though I have a work ex of around 3 years working in a Fintech was a completely new experience for me. The selection for my Summer Internship happened over 3 rounds. The first round was a group discussion where we were given the topic of "Make in India" where each individual was to express their views about the topic.

The next round was on article writing. People selected in the GD round were supposed to write an article on "Is Global Warming a Myth?".

Next round was the HR round where we were asked a few questions about our interests and past job experience by the CEO of the Company. After waiting about half a day we got the results of our selection and were pretty excited about our joining. We were around 7 people selected for this internship and all of us joined the company with a lot of questions and an equal level of excitement in our head. The role allotted to me was that of an HR intern. The induction given to us helped us understand the business model of the organization. Slowly we started to understand the role we were to hold in the company. Though initially, the work allotted was not very objective however slowly I understood that since the organization was a growing one the role given to me, was that of an all-rounder in the HR domain. I was given the opportunity to talk to significant people in the management and make Job descriptions specific to their roles.

As an HR intern, I even got a chance to be a part of the recruitment team and went on to conduct a few interviews. This helped me critically analyse the other side of the table and understand what an organization expects out of a candidate. I was also given the responsibility to revamp the complete employee orientation process and design employer branding campaigns for the Organization. Besides this, as a part of the HR team, I was also responsible for drafting the HR manual for the Digital Sales team in the Organization. This activity needed in-depth study of the existing HR policies and government policies and aligning them with the team-specific details. We had several meetings with the CEO who would review our work and suggest us changes that he needed if any.

As I wanted to work on HR analytics my mentor also gave me an opportunity to use the company data to analyse and suggest on why attrition rate was high in the organization and what changes in the recruitment process should be brought to reduce the attrition. This was one of the most significant works I could accomplish in the organization. It helped me understand how significant data and people analytics has become in today's world. Overall the internship was a great experience and though the work hours were a little tougher than normal the scope of learning was high. We got to make many new connections and our company Mentor supported us a lot. I must say as an HR intern this internship experience gave me a holistic exposure to the various fields in HR and helped me be more sure about where my interests in the future would lie.
