Part B
Trained in the field of Electronics & Communication discipline from one of the premier institutes of India - NIT, I had to step into the world of software development. In 2 years, I found myself faring comfortably well. I had started moving away from being a regular software developer into a techno-functional role. I had provided consultations and designing architecture of an IIoT system. A great opportunity was presented in front of me to step into a leadership role - to drive a product & its delivery.
I had already worked in the field - but I wasn't expecting the challenges the role would bring along. It was a new domain - Oil & Gas, a new set of people and a lot more expectations from me. I worked twice as hard as I had ever done before, studied twice the amount of literature to be able to guide my team, work for longer hours to manage a distributed team. The result of which, I was able to successfully deliver on my expectations. The valuable lesson I learned was, even if the challenge seems too big to overcome - diligence, hard work & perseverance can make you overcome all of it.
