Why the Aditya Birla group is big in my life…

Aditya Birla Group is the conglomerate which can be seen at almost in all walks of life. From fashion to food wrappers, telecommunications to online banking, cement industry to the chemical industry, fibers to carbon black, it is present everywhere.

Very recently, brands have started concentrating towards ideas like – making an impact, sustainable business models and/or investing in employees, innovation and ideas. These values, however, have been ingrained in the foundation of the Aditya Birla Group making them one of the last few respected business houses in the country.

The Aditya Birla Group has been able to engage with millions of lives through their presence in many sectors as different brands. The most common is the fashion brand. From high range clothes like Allen Solly and Peter England to medium range clothes like Pantaloons it gave me a wide variety of options to choose from. When I wear these brands, I directly distinguish myself from other brands. It gives me the feeling of being classy. Pantaloons stores have made my life easy as it is a one-stop solution for all due to its presence in the tier 2 cities like Ranchi where I belong. In the era of penetration by many foreign brands in the country, Pantaloons stores gives us a sense of belonging.

I also used Ultratech Cement for the construction of my house. It holds the house very strongly and with this, it brings the sense of togetherness in the family. It also connects with us through vehicles as it produces Carbon Black which is used in the tyres. It also produces hydrogen peroxide for the environment and aquaculture. I have been a long time customer of their IDEA telecom Service which has helped me to connect with the world outside through the internet and other services which also has a huge impact on my life.

How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far…

In my school days, I felt shy to express myself though I was having enough content to talk about. I started avoiding people. Some of my peers felt I was arrogant. At the same time with few of my friends I interacted very well.

When I was in ninth standard, I was selected for assembly news reading. Next morning when I was standing in front of the entire school, I was shivering with anxiety. I wanted to runaway! I became numb.

No words came out of my mouth. With great difficulty I could read few lines swallowing many words. It was a disastrous performance. I didn't go to school for two days. I felt ashamed. Felt very shy to talk to any friends…

After observing me for a week my teacher called me. Asked ‘what is the difference you felt on stage?

I was shy and didn't answer. I wanted to somehow escape from that conversation.

Then he started explaining and talked for some good 15-20 minutes.

Except the line ‘many situations won't come in to your life asking your permission' I could not understand the remaining teaching at that time.

I then started interacting with more students in my class, speaking up in groups, participating in different activities where I can speak up in front other people.

After 4 months I was selected for news reading again. I did a lot of preparation but when I was on the mic, everything went blank. I thought I am going to repeat the history. I was cursing myself for putting me in that awkward situation again.

I took a deep breath and started by thanking my teacher. After sometime I was feeling a bit comfortable and continued to finish my content.

On that very day I realized ‘the only person who can pull me down is myself, and I'm not going to let myself pull me down anymore’.

Today I always try to get out of my comfort zone, work hard, endure the hassles and insecurity in the process and conquer every new thing.
