How Aditya Birla Group impacted my life?

Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in the country, which spans over 34 countries and has a 120,000 workforce. Its been part of every citizen’s life in our country since its inception. It also has a big impact on my life with its wide range of products. As a metallurgy graduate, Hindalco Industries was my dream company to work for. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to work with ABG, but its work in the research in the industry always inspired me. I have been using its IDEA telecom services since I got my first mobile phone and it never disappointed me.

I have always shopped at Pantaloons, which has a wide variety of fashion brands like Allen Solly, Peter England, and Louis Philippe, which helped in making my mark with my personality and fashion sense. ABG helped in building the infrastructure of the country by building cities and connecting the corner of the country and making the dreams of many a reality by building personal homes with UltraTech cements and ABG financial services. As an avid biker, I have always relied on Birla tires which provide me a safer and comfortable ride even in extreme conditions.

ABG helped the many lives all over the country with its social development programs. It provided education to rural children and provided scholarships to the students in pursuing higher studies. It has provided basic health care facilities by setting up medical camps and hospitals. It played a big role in women empowerment by helping financially to be self-reliant and strong. IT played a huge role in the country’s development and made everyone lives better.

How did you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in your life so far?

The most difficult challenge I have faced in my life was at the time of preparation of IIT JEE. The system or approach in the intermediate colleges towards cracking the JEE exam was not something that can be appreciated. They build the pressure of performing into an extent where the students start falling apart due to the stressful environment. Things got worse when expectations from the family members have joined this cause. It’s a huge challenge to adapt to the pressure of performing and not also to lose our interests because we hardly get time to do things that we love. One mistake from me and everyone starts questioning my commitment towards my goal. There was even a time when my teachers gave up on me just because I was not following their blueprint to success. I still believed in myself, and my path towards my goal was the right one.

In the process of achieving my goals, my determination to succeed is so strong that a couple of failures along the way didn’t make me lose my approach and belief in my plan. It was after a long struggle and continuous hearing from people who thought I’ll fail just because I choose not to follow something that’s been happening in a certain way. My achievement in the challenge, as mentioned earlier, is not about clearing JEE but clearing on my terms in a stress-free manner in a place that is designed to put you under pressure from day one. The lessons learnt from these challenges helped me in shaping my path, and I am looking forward to any obstacles that might come in this new chapter in IIM Visakhapatnam.
