I have always performed upright throughout my academics, always being among top 5 in my class. After scoring good marks in 10th, my next aim was to crack IIT. With this came greater expectations from my family, teachers and friends. I was under a lot of pressure and wanted to be part of a reputed institution like IIT. I worked day and night to achieve my dream. Although I secured good marks in 12th but was not able to crack IIT. I was disheartened as my hard work did not yield the desired results. I was not able to accept this and didn’t know what I should do next. At this point, my father explained to me that failure is part of life and one should not be demotivated by it. Rather than crying over it, one should learn from mistakes and try to improve. I started preparing for entrance exams again and gave exam next year. The whole year was a big challenge for me. Taking a drop year was a very big step. There was even more pressure this time. I was losing confidence because of the fear of not performing better. But proper guidance from my family, teachers and friends helped me gain my confidence. Although I couldn’t get into IIT, but getting into NIT Warangal, one of the most reputed engineering institutions of India was a big success. I also got merit scholarship for three consecutive years. Pursuing Btech from such a reputed college helped me further to learn and expand my knowledge.
