Aditya Birla Group is flag bearer of Indian business community with plethora of brands under its umbrella. Be it cements for constructing your house or the sim card you carry to talk with your friends and family, Aditya Birla group is touching lives of billions of people all around the globe.

I still remember how much I fancied the way Pantaloons was able to bring so many brands under a single roof, especially Peter England and Van Heusen. I purchased my first Peter England shirt during my college placements and to my delight I was selected in very first company I sat for. I was wearing the very same shirt during my interview at MDI Gurgaon and during my interviews for Summer Placements. This resembles the long-term relationship that ABG as a brand build with the customers they serve.

Aditya Birla Group through its Idea brand communicated that you can do whatever you want and all it takes is a game changing Idea which can change your life. It inspired me to contribute to society through constant support and I was able to become CSR secretary of GET club Tata motors Jamshedpur. This gave me an opportunity to drive changes faster. I organized many CSR events around Jamshedpur. My special focus was environment and education. With the help of fellow GETs I conducted tree plantation drive and Ban plastic drive. In latter we went to nearby shops and encouraged them to use paper bags instead of poly bags. We sourced paper bags from an NGO run by ladies and requested shopkeepers to source paper bags from that NGO so that it can be a sustainable source of money for workers working there. I also conducted blood donation drive and encouraged employees of Tata motors for the same. We started school enrolment drive to inspire people of nearby villages to send their children to school. We went door to door telling people benefits of education and subsidies provided by government for the same. We successfully conducted Wheels which is the annual CSR event of the GET club of Tata motors Jamshedpur which provides a platform for children to showcase their talent. I volunteered for Logistics and led a team of 5 people. As part of that I planned venues, scheduled and arranged necessary logistics for different events so that whole event could be conducted smoothly.

This was my greatest achievement because of the number of lives I was able to impact with these initiatives. I had to interact with different stakeholders and had to align all of them with common vision. I presented timeline of events which were planned throughout the year to muster support from Tata motors administration and from all fellow GETs and their support helped me to make these initiatives great success.

The other reason why I like company like ABG is that they do their best to contribute to social and economic development in the communities where they operate with their robust CSR policies.
