Every person faces some or the other challenge in their life, may it be big or small. Some of them may seem too difficult to overcome, or at times even impossible. Not giving up in these difficult times is critical. As it rightly said that, the sky is darkest just before dawn; enduring the darkest times will see us through the challenges and help us overcome them. I faced such times too.

Since the time I could remember, I always found it difficult to talk to a group of more than two. Facing an entire crowd was the most fearful thing I could ever think of. After my schooling days were over, I could feel the anxiety building up. But, I knew I would have to overcome my fears soon. Once college started, I slowly began to work on my fears. I forced myself to face situations which were out of my comfort zone. I followed a disciplined and consistent approach to become better than I currently was. Instead of comparing myself with others, I focused on becoming better by the day.

I had realized the importance of good communication skills and the fact that I needed to inculcate them soon. Also, I got a lot of opportunities to work on my shortcomings during the two years of my job. I learnt how to communicate with my superiors and deliver my work effectively to the clients. I was eventually asked to supervise the work of a team of four members, in which, effective communication was imperative. I began to learn many new things by putting conscious efforts in improving myself. Along with that, I also had to study for my MBA entrance exams. Having lost touch of formal studying, self-discipline was the only thing that kept me going. Due to my responsibilities in my job, I could not give my 100% to studies.

I needed to work even harder than I was. Therefore, I decided to leave my job. This decision seemed foolish to a lot of my colleagues, but my aim was clear. I wanted to give complete attention to my studies. Although, quitting my job was a huge risk, I did not let that overpower my decision. Here, being self-disciplined helped me a great deal. I worked diligently and gave my 100%.

Eventually, all this hard work was paid off when I got selected in one of the best B-schools in India which is TAPMI. I feel that, one must face all the challenges with determination and try to become the best version of oneself.
