PART- A
The Aditya Birla Group has been a household name to many Indians. This led me to discover the thought if an average person in India could go about her/ his day without having any remote connection to THE BIRLAS? To know the answer, I would like to analyse a day in the life of a common urban Indian.
It is an undeniable fact that the first thing we see in the morning is our mobile phone. This device that schedules, informs and entertains us works on Idea. Not the conceptual idea of the mobile phone but India’s largest telecom operator – IDEA. As one goes about their routine and is frantically getting dressed to reach the office or a meeting, it is hard to ignore the fact that you have been wearing an item brought from the Aditya Birla Group and how is that possible? ABG houses some of the top fashion brands in India along with their one-stop multi-brand retail outlets that are found all across India. Later in the day as you travel to work while despising the traffic it comes as a surprise to know that most of the things that you see have had a relationship with the ABG. To name a few- India’s largest cement manufacturer UltraTech is an ABG brand, BIRLA Carbon supplies raw material to most automobile companies in India and also doing its bit for a sustainable future is the HindalCo- a metal flagship company of the ABG.
As we unravel ABG’s influence on an average Indian we cannot deny the fact that it plays a significant role in our lives. To all the services and products that have been catered diligently over the years by the ABG here is a big thank you.
PART- B
Life comes with sweet successes and bitter failures. Challenges and hindrances during one’s success process only help to clearly define zeal and test perseverance. An achievement with an underlying challenge and risk factor will only add to an individual’s learning process thereby fuelling the passion in them.
To elaborate on the same lines, I would like to give a personal example. I started working for an acclaimed multinational company soon after I graduated from college. My life was very comfortable and work seemed fun initially. But as days went by, I grew weary of the very thought of work because day in and day out I performed the same task redundantly which left me with a strong feeling of guilt that I learned nothing new with every day that passed. As my association with the company neared a year, I finally jumped the gun and made a decision to quit and pursue higher education. This was a challenge in itself because I was answerable to a lot of people. People at my organization weren’t very supportive of my decision and tried to persuade me to stay back. My parents had their share of concerns and apprehensions. I was very determined and quit work. But the real challenge began when I was at home preparing for my entrance tests. Often, I felt helpless and directionless during the preparation process. I lost all self-confidence when I didn't fare well in mock exams. I started to perceive this as my downfall and seconded the opinion of people at my organization who thought quitting was a bad idea. But I was resilient to prove to myself that my decision was the right one. I pulled my socks up, started to study harder and did not give up on my dream.
One year later I am at T.A.Pai Management Institute pursuing my MBA. My plans might not have realized in the perfect way that I dreamt of, but resilience and perseverance abled me to hold my ground and allowed me to step closer to my dream despite the challenges and hindrances.
