Trichy, the educational hub of Tamil Nadu has served as the capital for many empires over the course of several centuries and now it serves as the home of many institutions among others institutes like National Institute of Technology- Trichy, St. Josephs College, Bishop Heber College, Bharathidasan Institute of Management BIM Trichy, Anna University and our very own Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli- IIM Trichy.
What makes my campus unique?
B-school selection is a herculean task for the MBA Aspirants, the confusion becomes real when it comes to selecting between the new IIMs. I was very much confused about which one to choose during my admission. I chose IIM Trichy because of the strong faculty that the college had built. It has the best permanent faculty to student ratio among the newer IIMs. The faculty members' qualifications and quality are top notch. Most of the faculty have done their Doctoral Programs from IIMs or Ph.D. from IITs. All the faculty members are really helpful and would go the extra mile to make the student understand a certain concept and to make the learning of concepts easier.
IIM Trichy offers students a unique experience of two years that is almost unparalleled in India. One of the best things about IIMT is the academic rigor that we experience during our time here. Courses are designed in a manner that demands active participation from students in the classroom. It is also expected that we prepare for the class beforehand in order to cover a larger breadth of the subject in class. Faculty play a crucial role as facilitators, encouraging us to bring forth our points and draw upon our past experiences, teaching us how to link and make connections from our past experience to the various facets of management in the process.
I wrote the CAT exam with the same dream that most of the aspirants have, to make it to the mighty IIMs. Being true to my name, like Gautam Buddha I too sat under a ‘Peepal’ tree, meditating over the CAT preparation material and writing mocks. The meditation bore me several fruits in the form of calls and converts from multiple IIMs, but I could taste only one. The decision was tricky, the decision was Trichy. One truly has to devour this fruit called IIM Trichy for real pleasure, but I will let you at least smell its aroma in the next few lines.
IIMs are known for their rigorous academics, tight deadlines and industry accolades. This culture developed by the IIMs over the years has nurtured countless budding leaders who have made a mark across the globe. IIM Trichy is proudly following the legacy of the IIMs and its alumni are held in high prestige by organizations all around the world. Rigorous academic schedule and several club and committee activities ensure that the students are always on their toes and thus, are prepared for the relentless corporate life.
