When IIM Bangalore Becomes Your Home - Why Do You Feel A Void?
I wrote this way back in December 2015. It makes perfect sense after Convocation. It is dedicated to all my IIMB batchmates. Do give it a read. :)

I had a flight to catch in exactly 60 hours and 35 minutes, the flight that would tear me away from home. Make no mistakes, I wasn’t going home. I was leaving what I called home. IIM Udaipur, my nest for the two years. I stood in the open area near the mess hall, the word ‘Convocation’ winking at me in shiny green light. It was night and people were still at work to get things ready for Convocation dinner night. A proud moment for the institute and students – to host the many parents from different parts of the country coming with one universal sentiment – seeing their wards graduate from one of the best management institutes in the country. For them, it was but a Business school, a very good one. For us, it was an adventure. I started walking towards the night canteen.
As I stepped out of the Mewar Express in Udaipur, an unfamiliar yet expected sight greeted me on 2nd January of this year. Scores of classmates were buzzing across the length of the platform trying to find the ones who had just deboarded and directing them towards the waiting bus outside the station.
I am an MBA student. I have committed 2 years of my life to a program that is more demanding that any of the relationships I have had. The irony of the fact is that when I graduated as an engineer I never thought I would need this. But as the rope that I was thrown at my office started to fall short, as my hikes got lesser and as the next promotion looked less likely I came across the glass door. It opened only for those with who had the password. And to know the password you needed to invest into a two-year program. So I did.
B-School Life shouldn't and isn't about learning new things, sitting for lectures, making timely submissions, networking, finding the right question to answer and so on. It's supposed to be the most amazing time of your life. And it can't be the most amazing time of your life if there is no FUN involved. So to promote this idea - B-School is not all work but also FUN, we, at InsideIIM, have come up with a new series called 'Humour on Campus'. Just in time for April Fool's Day.

Saying “Goodbye” to a beloved is always painful and I am finding it difficult to maintain my poise while writing this piece as this really sounds like a ‘farewell bell’ from IIM Calcutta PGEX 2016-17 batch!
Welcome to The School of Ideas - MICA. If MICA were a line from a song, it would be, "such a lovely place, such a lovely place, such a lovely place…” from Hotel California, for how earnestly it conveys the emotion. The graduating class of 2017 is still submerged in the MICA experience as they tell us what really distinguishes them from the rest. And by the end, we’ll also find out why at MICA, "You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave."
