What I Learnt From Social Media Groups While Preparing For CAT

It's been long since I decided to write something about the 'online groups' culture that has been brewing in the 'MBA preparation' ecosystem and I feel there's no better time to write about this, than now, when the interview season is about to end and most of the groups formed last year are about to die out. Although I wasn't a firm believer that such groups can help me in any way, I still decided to delve in and here's what I learnt.

Should You Leave Your Job For Full-time CAT Preparation?

Should You Leave Your Job For Full-time CAT Preparation?

In 2015, as a working CAT aspirant, I always had these questions on my mind: “Should I leave my IT job to concentrate on the CAT 2015 preparation." I didn’t leave my job because I could somehow manage my time and had taken CAT twice before. But not everyone has a job which gives them some time to prepare. Aspirant working in core sectors or the field jobs have a 6-day week and rotational shifts that makes streamlined preparation very difficult. Even many people in IT or desk jobs, who haven’t prepped for CAT before and don’t have time for joining any coaching, would face this question.

Is CAT Really Tough? Or Is It Just About The Strategy?

Is CAT Really Tough? Or Is It Just About The Strategy?

This is one of the most common questions that I come across every year coming from CAT exam aspirants. To answer in simple words- NO IT IS NOT. How To Crack VA-RC Section For CAT - Reading Comprehension

How To Crack VA-RC Section For CAT - Reading Comprehension

Verbal Ability is one section which is a low-hanging fruit for a lot of CAT Aspirants. It boosts the overall percentile immensely, even if you have done moderately well in the other sections. However, it is also a risky section for even those who are well-versed with English grammar and fluent in English. As an aspirant, I have given many mock tests and scored over 99 percentile in VA-RC in most of them because I have realised that CAT as an exam tests your ability to use logic and elimination methods, even in Verbal Ability.

Mistakes I Made In CAT 2017 And Things I Learned During My Preparation

Mistakes I Made In CAT 2017 And Things I Learned During My Preparation

When the CAT 17 result was released on January 8, I  was completely in shock, as I had no idea of what to do next because 83 percentile will never help me to get IIM calls. The only thing I had in my mind is to take admission this year or prepare for CAT 2018 but sometimes you know the inner satisfaction is more important because when we are not satisfied with the decision which we make is worthless. So after a month of deciding what will be a good option for me I have decided to prepare for CAT 2018.
