Note: This article is dedicated to all the B-School aspirants preparing for the entrance exams (and others too who have tried this year and are looking to give it another go.)
A year ago I would not have imagined giving advice of this sort or any sort, for that matter. However, almost a month ago I converted (I have no clue why they call that) to IIM(s) and my life changed.
It is very common to be anxious about the future or to be disappointed because of the past, but life is all about living in the present. So is the journey to the b-schools!
Over the past two weeks, I have been receiving a lot of queries from fellow aspirants on different aspects of their preparation for CAT. While there were some questions unique to the individual, other questions were quite common. I believe the entire aspirant community can benefit from these questions and that's why I am penning down this post.
The first few days of starting your preparation for CAT are most important. CAT preparation is like signing up for a Gym. Everyone wants a very good figure and hence would join a Gym but very few continue going to Gym after for the first few days. CAT, much like a Gym, attracts everyone who wants to get into an IIM (and or want to get out of their miserable jobs!), but alas not too many continue the prep!
"Before anything else, preparation is the key to success". These are the words of Alexander Graham Bell, a Scottish-born scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with patenting the first practical telephone.
Is CAT really just an exam? In the land of dreams and aspirations that we live in, getting an admit into an IIT, IIM, IAS is the wildest dream for thousands of aspirants and their families alike.
