Difficulty in the CAT is in the questions and closeness in the answer options, not in the passage. The passage generally is quite interesting and not too long but the real problem is in the options. Having a good reading ability would be an advantage and those with this skill can conquer this section. For cracking the Verbal Section, you need to attempt between 24 and 26 questions, depending on the difficulty of the paper. The easier it is, the more questions you need to knock off. And you need to have an accuracy of more than 90%. Anything less and it’s no better than guesswork. So around 21-23 questions have to be dealt correctly. The Sentence Elimination and Critical Reasoning questions can also be very tough to crack. Have a balanced approach, and pick your questions wisely to get into that sweet range.
