How I Improved From 80 Percentile To 98.76 Percentile In DILR

How I Improved From 80 Percentile To 98.76 Percentile In DILR

The toughest section in CAT and even a single mark or 2 can get you a 50 percentile. So that means out of 2 lac aspirants who give this exam, around 1 lac students aren't even able to get 3 marks(which is marks allocated for one question). Tens of thousands of students end up getting a negative score. But with proper planning and execution, you can score well in this section.

How I Aced CAT 2019 QA After A Failed Attempt In CAT 2017 | Anushka Singh

How I Aced CAT 2019 QA After A Failed Attempt In CAT 2017 | Anushka Singh

No, this is not a clickbait. I truly went from a 30’s something percentile in quant section in CAT 2017 to a 97 percentile in CAT 2019. Now before you go on to think that quant is not your cup of tea since you never understood it in the first place, let me give you a small background on myself.  I have had an interesting journey with Mathematics all my life. I hated it until I was in std 9th, mainly because I failed to understand it. Topics of arithmetic like profit loss, percentages, Time speed distance all were a bouncer and the often-imaginary world of geometry was a nightmare for me as I compared myself to Darsheel Safari of Taare Zameen Par, who could not form a picture of Apple when the teacher asked him to write it. I barely managed to scrape through my exams and felt my future to be absolutely bleak.

"I Learned To Stop Worrying And Embraced The Journey" | Sanjana Sinha's Journey To IIM Calcutta

I graduated from NIT Delhi in 2018 and worked in Tata power-DDL for nearly two years in the Operations Department. When I’m not working or studying, I am always chasing an overly-ambitious reading goal that I set for myself every year. In the year 2019, I had pledged to read 51 books, however owing to the shortage of time, I managed to read only 20 books. My path to CAT wasn’t clear from the start. Unlike most aspirants, I didn’t have an inkling of how my future was going to look like. The gruelling experience of being a Science student was taking its toll on me. At the beginning of my final year of B.Tech, I decided that entering the corporate world rather than pursuing higher education was the right course of action for me. But things didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped, my father, who had an illustrious career in a Maharatna PSU, expected me to follow in his footsteps. And why wouldn’t he? So far, I had fulfilled my parents’ expectations, to the extent that I even studied the same branch in Engineering as my father did. And thus, began my tryst with GATE.

The 6-step Guide To Ace The CAT | Ft. Debabrata Das, 99.58 %iler

There has been plenty of posts on individual CAT journeys and most of them were quite inspiring. Every time I thought of writing my journey, I realized that it was rather quite boring in nature without much element of drama in it. After getting the result of CAT 2019, I wanted to somehow help the upcoming aspirants in my capacity. Most of the articles that I found during my preparation only talked about the preparation and none of them mentioned how to build the exam-taking strategy. This is one area in which I feel I can help the aspirants and therefore this is my small effort in helping the upcoming students and also motivating them in my little capacity.

From Statistics Major To An MBA | Sweety's Journey To IIM Calcutta

When a girl steps out from a small, non-recognizable district to shape her future, she doesn't only carry the weight of her career's success and fright of future failure on her shoulders, but a lot more. The tracks she lays down have to be paved such that every girl from that place can refer to it when she pleads her parents for higher studies. Today I am an IIM Calcutta student, but this is not all I have in mind. I cracked it in the first attempt, but trust me, I have made my mistakes, learned from them, and am proud to share my journey, little by little, with all of you, so hop on.
