Last year, all of the IIMs slipped out of the top fifty with two of them being in the top 60, including IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. But that's changed. In the Financial Times MBA rankings of 2024, the IIMs have made up several positions over the last year.
Whenever there is a ‘Chai pe Charcha’ about India’s top B-schools, National Institute of Industrial Engineering or NITIE as it is better known, is a definite sip. The ‘Operations and Supply Chain’ powerhouse of India is amongst the top-ten business schools in India, in the leagues of the older IIMs and other premier institutes. Adding on to this unparalleled legacy, NITIE has diversified into a plethora of programs across specializations.
We have often heard stories about the cultural and gender diversity in B-schools that provides learning opportunities to students beyond classrooms. The collective learning and problem solving provide a window of opportunity to learn things that a normal B-school curriculum can’t provide. FLAME university believes in every bit of it and thus puts emphasis on students from different walks of life while making their final selection for programs. We spoke to three FLAME university students, Kanisha, Nikhil and Sagarika to understand their journey, why they chose FLAME over other B-schools and how they manage their passion and B-school life together currently. Apart from placements, there are a lot of things that go into selecting a B-School. The process of shortlisting a B-School starts way before even we have got the CAT results. The mocks and last year papers give us a glimpse of where we stand and where we can be.
Getting into a good b-school is a full-time job; it requires time, practice, awareness and due diligence. But when the dust around CAT and other exams settles & you receive your scores, you are left facing a barrage of questions like, “Where will these scores get me?”, “How do I prepare for them?”, “How do I prepare for GD/PI?”, etc. Obviously, if you have a par score, getting into Tier 1 & 2 b-schools would be your goal & it has its own challenges. But if that’s not the case, going for Tier 3 b-schools has its own intricacies. So we thought we’ll talk about making the right choices after CAT.
After a hard toil of preparation and anxious wait for CAT results, you now know your CAT scores. But knowing your exam results are not enough. As the next steps, you need to start finding the right resources and people who will help you reach your perfect B-School for your profile.
