ABG- A legacy of Trust and Quality-SCMHRD

This conglomerate was started by Shiv Narayan Birla and taken to greater heights by Aditya Vikram Birla. The Group has expanded itself in 35 countries in more than 13 different segments. To me why Aditya Birla group is important is because of the apparel sector. If I wanted an apparel for any occasion (Office, Party, Wedding, Casual Wear, Sport), the one stop solution is ABG. It has varieties of brands- Louis Phillip (The premium one), Simon Carter India (The premium British look clothing), Allen Solly (for sports freak and colourful people), Van Heusen (Formal wear, Party wear), Peter England (The daily wear, for common India), Pantaloons (The multi brand store). This brand has redefined the whole men and women fashion Industry.  Recently, entry of Peter England into Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities has expanded its reach. So, I can say this conglomerate is in limits of most Indians and continuously working hard to reach to more people. The product range of these products are in line with the earning across these towns and merchandise FASHIONABILITY is quite high with regard to casual market.

how I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions

In my life my main ambition was to get settled down after my college life. Firstly I was not aware and not sure about what exactly path I need to choose. Then I chose to go for MS preparation and started do studying and got good marks. Even after that I missed the chance to get admitted in top university by 0.5 points it was disheartening moment for me because for this I have worked for almost one year. Then I read “There’s this assumption that when you’re an adult you get everything locked down and sorted,” says Strange. “No way! I think these times are the most exciting; you’re wiser to the world and can make changes even more easily. It’s about being open and receptive to change, and eager to identify when something isn’t working for you and then making a change. It’s a never-ending process of analysis, assessment and action!” So, I decided to join for a company as I have lost my time already and started working over there but again work satisfaction is also most important thing which I was not getting from that job. I decided to quit that job and go for further studies for that I took help of my seniors and people who were close to me and can give me best career options. From all these things I decided to go for MBA as my interest was in finance only so started preparing for entrance exam and scored well. Fortunately, I got admitted in one of top MBA University that is “Sydenham” and now it seems that may time gone but I got it finally for which I was looking for. As they says “It is never too late to be who you might have been”.

Grasim Industries Limited is the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group. It started manufacturing textiles in 1947 and the brand that has influenced me is Linen Club held by Grasim Industries. Having a six-decade experience, Linen Club is inseparable from the Linen market of India. Linen Club is manufactured by Jaya Shree textiles. Jaya Shree Textiles was established in 1949 at Rishra in Hooghly district of West Bengal. It has successfully sailed through ups and downs of Textile Business and today it has emerged as a leader in Linen and Wool Business in India.

The Aditya Birla Group is one of the premier business conglomerate of India. Founded in 1857, Seth Shiv Narayan Birla commenced cotton trading operations at Pilani, Rajasthan and set the foundation of the Birla Group of Companies and it subsequently transformed to a leading multi-product corporation covering varied business sectors. It is impossible to have not come across an ABG product in one’s everyday life. It has had a huge place in my life like it has been in millions of other peoples’ lives. There are numerous incidents where ABG has helped me get set for the big day of my life and it is impossible to choose one such incident. So I thought of writing about a few such incidents.
