As people, we go through a lot during our life. We study, get jobs and move to new places. Get new friends, get dumped by girlfriends and try to stand back up. Only a select few of us are lucky to do it with some loved ones. Rest all go through these changes mostly by themselves. Through the past decade, I thought that I am in situations where everything has changed and I don’t have anything in common with the past. But recently, I went down on the modern-day memory lane i.e. Google Photos for Aam Aadmi like me(no endorsement for Kejriwal intended 😉). What I found out was rather surprising. My most important moments and experiences were bound by one other thread apart from my father’s assurance and mother’s blessings. It was Aditya Birla Group in the form of myriads of products.

IMPACTING LIVES (IIM ROHTAK)

One of the premier business conglomerates of India, Aditya Birla Group has been a household name in India for years. Active in 14 industry sectors and having achieved national and global leadership in several sectors, it has impacted lives in various ways. Like Aditya Birla Group I have also tried to make my impact with my actions and make it worthwhile. Since childhood the only wish I had was to become a doctor and serve people. But unfortunately that dream of mine was shattered as there was something else in store. I was completely broken but somehow gathered courage and after my graduation I sat for CAT and was able to clear it in my first attempt. Throughout this phase my parents were always there for me and supported in every way they could. My father comes from a small village and put our wishes and needs before his. So, it was a ritual which I and my sister used to follow on his b’day and on father’s day to go to a nearby Peter England store and buy him a shirt with our savings and gift him. The happiness on his face after we gifted him was an ultimate satisfaction which we got. So, when I had to go to Delhi for my CAP process, my father made sure that I looked my best on one of the most important days of my life. For this he took me the Van Heusen store and bought me a formal suit so that I present myself well in the interview process as appearance and dressing enhances the personality of an individual. So, I went for the interview in full confidence and aced it. All I can say is Aditya Birla Group has been with me throughout my life in one way or the other. Be it in interviews, or when I am waering a Pantaloons traditional suit in a religious function or when I am constantly glued up on the TV with my idea enabled sim in phone to answer the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ questions or when house is being built with the Ultratech Cement, Aditya Birla Group is the one which has been throughout leaving an indelible impression on my mind.

Presence and Importance of ABG in our Lives, SDA Bocconi, Asia Center

Aditya Birla Group has covered every hemisphere of our lives. The basic three need of a man’s life are Food, Clothes and a House. ABG has done all three for us. Starting from ensuring that my food remains warm and healthy by its high quality and high thermal conductivity aluminum wrap - Freshwrapp, other things like I remain at the top of the fashion game by shopping from premium brands like Pantaloons and Van Heusen. Forever 21 is my go-to place. My house has been built by UltraTech Cement and all the houses in my colony has been built by the same cement. It has also given a fourth dimension to the today’s world which is technology and this is leveraged by the IIN-Idea Internet Network. ABG has revolutionized my world in every hemisphere and not only mine, ABG has truly revolutionized the lives of 7.8 billion people of this world in every segment that one can possibly think of. Talking about overcoming challenges, for me the meaning of overcoming challenges in life is to make life more meaningful and worth living. In every difficult situation, I have two options either to run away from the situation or to face it with full dignity and self-confidence without any regrets. I look at a situation like a 5-year-old. Just like a child would do anything to make its wish get fulfilled, I look at the challenge in the similar way so that the challenge looks way smaller than my will to do it. I have always loved heights but I have acrophobia. My fears couldn’t stop me from trying rides in adventure islands and parks. I have tried everything related to heights starting from rides to mountain climbing to rapplings to flying fox but sky diving is still in my Wishlist. I love that feeling which I feel in my stomach when I overcome my fears. Ambitions are never small or big and neither the challenges are. For me it’s like a tug of war game on one side of which is a challenge and on the other side are my dreams and I have to win it no matter what because I want a life with no regrets.

Since childhood the telephone industry has always captivated me. I remember rushing to receive every call at the landline. Talking to someone who were cities apart and getting to know how they were doing drew interest in me. Retrospecting, it was the fascination of how this gadget actually brought people together. And then in the early 2000s everything changed, my father bought a cellphone. I was immensely impressed by the fact that one could now be mobile while talking. Now there was no need to wait for a call, no need to set a pre-determined time and no need for people to travel to the local booth. It was literally in the grasp of one’s hand.
