ABG's Forever 21

ABG's Forever 21

Forever 21 is a leading brand under Aditya Birla Group. ABG works to touch the life of individuals from different walks of life. Forever 21 in particular has been able to touch the youth in terms of the style and personality the carry which is becoming of leading importance in todays world. The category of clothing which the brand carries is unique and was one of the fist exlusive brands to be known for the youth, and has also positioned itself in terms of youth orientation. From the time I understood style, the outlet i looked for was forever 21. Pantaloons another clothing chain outlet owned by ABG, carries different brands and cater to different section of style oriented individual. Forever 21 is highly concentric towards youth. It also brings in a western touch by being in pace with international trends, and this is what i was looking for as a young teen. To make its reach more intensive, clothing at forever 21 is highly affordable unlike brands like Mango, etc. Affordability is a major criteria for youth and this brand even catered to that.

UNTANGLING LIFE“I have enough clothes. I don’t need to go to shopping” Said no women ever! Yes, the quote itself summarizes why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life, or for that matter, in any women’s life. Whenever I want to buy clothes, Pantaloons has always been my favorite store to stop by. It is the pioneer in fashion retail in India with more than 275 stores dealing in branded clothes of both menswear and womenswear. I am particularly fond of buying stuff from Pantaloons because the clothes are affordable and follow the inhouse trend. I cannot imagine my life as an MBA student without formals from Van Heusen, nor can I imagine my life as a professional without fancy bags from Allen Solly. Be it my dad’s birthday or some auspicious occasion, Peter England has been a sure stop solution catering to all the gifting needs. All these fashion brands come under the large umbrella of Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd which in turns comes underditya Birla Group. “An IDEA can change your life”“Ek IDEA jo badal de apki duniya.”“What an IDEA Sirji.”Millennials have grown up listening these lines and hence are embedded in my head. Because eventually, the universe falls back into place, always (just to prepare for another commotion yet again).

GO BIG OR GO HOME_IMI New Delhi

GO BIG OR GO HOME_IMI New Delhi

Getting ready for school listening to a song on the radio by the American Authors- “Go Big or Go Home”, I asked my Father who was in the other room getting dressed too, what does ‘Going Big’ means? He said BIG is about making a difference, distorting the balance. As a young boy I was confused, he held me and told me that he will make me understand what going big means throughout the day by showing me live examples of a ‘Giant’ whose name he will revealed at the end of the day. It caught my interest as I was exhilarated to know about this Giant. He started by pointing towards his Pantaloons shirt and Van Heusen trouser and his wardrobe showcasing different apparels from Louis Philippe, Allen Solly and Peter England. He said, “Big is all about Great Style” and that the Giant takes care of our Styling needs. Exiting the house, he exclaimed, “Big is Massive” pointing towards the house, roads and other humongous buildings explaining how the Giant looks after the Cement, Concrete and all other Building materials. We sat in the car and drove but suddenly my Dad applied the brakes really hard making the Car stop at once avoiding an accident, he smiled towards me and said, “Big is also Microscopic” looking after our car tyres making it safer while not harming the nature. He showed me the Green patches alongside the road, he chuckled and exclaimed but mostly, “Big is Indispensable” taking care nature and providing superior quality Fertilizers and Chemicals. We parked the car in a Railway station parking and were waiting in the ticket line he said, “Big is Lifeline” pointing towards the speeding trains, exclaiming that large amount of the copper in Indian Railways is provided by the Giant. I now understood completely that the Giant is taking care of all our needs and demands and I was excited to know name so he handed me his Mobile Phone and told me to look for name of the service provider teasing me by saying, “Big makes distance Disappear”. I looked and see Idea written and when looked up I saw a huge Billboard of Idea telecom which had the name of our Giant, “ADITYA BIRLA GROUP”, the one name behind everything. Finally, our quest came to an end. My father told me one last thing that, “Big is for Everyone and works for everyone’s smiles, that day I learned about the Giant the Aditya Birla Group and how to make Big differences in everyone’s life and Going BIG. Several years went by, I was sitting in my office and received a call that my BIG man is not well. Being in a different city I had to leave my job and rush to look after him, after a lot of struggle and fight he gave up and we all mourned in his absence, I felt that I have reached Cul-de-sac and  just then I heard the same song, “Go Big or Go Home”, which reminded me of the giant and going Big in life. This ignited the fire inside of me brighter than ever providing me with confidence and motivation. I decided that I will give CAT this year despite being a little late to start the preparation. I remembered everything my father taught me about going big, making an Impact, being Remembered, making a Difference and distorting the balance. Despite being in not so healthy state both Mentally and Emotionally and certain other distractions, I joined the business schools entrance exams coaching and started giving my hundred percent, working hard all day all night. Becoming the man of the house and learning different aspects and responsibilities associated with this role, learning the through different mistakes, challenges and roadblocks emerging out of it better than before. Got into one of the top B-Schools of our country. I still motivate myself by telling me, “Go Big or Go Home”, and trying to make it ‘BIG’ like the Giant that changed my life forever.
