Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory | MDI Gurgaon

Being an introvert, I always shied away from meeting new people and taking up new responsibilities. While I was in 3rd year of my engineering, my friend being the sponsorship head of our college’s annual cultural fest convinced me to help him organize the fest. Reluctantly, I joined him and started to work hard and understand things that were completely new to me. Going forward, two months before the fest, I was made the marketing head and found myself in a difficult situation trying to lead different teams. This is what I believe was the biggest challenge for me as I had to address these teams from the stage, and I would shiver sometimes while addressing the audience. It was a nightmare for me and the fact of doing it again the next day would haunt me in the night. And, then to prove myself and live up to the responsibility I was given, I began to practice in the room in front of the mirror and started believing in myself. Slowly, I shredded the stage fear and at a time, was addressing the whole crowd present in the fest, on one of the biggest podiums that one could get in the college. This instilled a great amount of confidence in me and proved to be a huge moral victory for me. Eventually, I joined a sales job and ended up performing extremely well in a role where I was continuously interacting with different people across the country.Aditya Birla Group, with its various products instills this confidence and trust in their customers. Of ironies and full circles

He thinks I am beautiful, but calls me monkey-faced. He loves me, but doesn’t show it. He scolds me, but doesn’t mean it. He showers me with gifts, but rarely buys anything for himself.

Life is unfair and that is what makes it fair

Life is unfair and that is what makes it fair

I would like to begin with asking a simple question, what is challenge? If you are good dancer that even difficult steps seem easy for you and if you don’t even know to shake a leg, then even simple steps might seem as a huge challenge. So basically, challenge is anything which forces you to shift out of your comfort zone and do what you have never done and think something out of the box to arrive at a solution. My life has been basically a continuous roller coaster ride. When I was 4 years old, I started developing inflammation on my face to an extent that I had severe reddishness on my face and was simply bullied in school. Still that didn’t deter my confidence as I kept on achieving success during my schooling days. Finally, when I turned 13 doctors were able to diagnose that I have IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disorder) a not so common condition for a child at the age of 13. During that time, I turned so weak and fragile to an extent that I couldn’t walk. I was advised by doctors to skip my exams but something struck me and I said that no I am giving them but with no strength at all I devised a way in which my mother used to read the subjects and I used to just listen them lying down and somehow I went through. As 13 year I always had that question why me? But as I progressed and grew up, I realised that okay this is what I have, and I must deal with it. I decided to become a doctor with just intent making a difference knowing fully well that the odds are stacked against me and no would believe in me. But I had to make a choice take the easy path and regret whole your life or choose what you desire, and rest just leave it on the almighty. I know fully well that I would never be a 100% and always must be content with 90% health and on off days may be 85% but I do back myself that even at 85% I will produce a better result then any 100% has to offer. Right now after successfully being a doctor I am pursuing MBA because I plan to bring about an effective change in the system in a systemic way and even if I am able to touch and make a difference in 2-3 lives it would mean a lot to me. Because you cannot expect everything in life to be fair just make the most out of what you have.
