The IIM Calcutta Placements Report (Final) 2019 has been released by the institute! 100% of the PGP 2017-2019 batch, i.e., 442 students, was placed on Day 1 itself of the Final Placements season at IIM Calcutta.
The biggest dilemma for aspirants arises when they get admission to a college which was not their initial target. For instance, if you were targeting A, B or C (referred to as “ABC” henceforth) and end up getting calls from L, K, I and others - what does one do then?
A lot of aspirants raise concerns about their academic scores when they talk to me about their B-School aspirations. And their concerns are well founded. Everyone including the professors know and agree that academic scores are not an indicator of someone's capabilities. But academic consistency is a simple filter that many companies use to evaluate candidates. How do you counter this then?
The IIM Bangalore Final Placements 2019 report has been released by the institute! A total of 409 PGP students of the Class of 2019 participated in the Final Placements process at IIM Bangalore.
Recently, we released the list of the Top-45 Most Desirable Business Schools in 2019, with the top-5 spots being occupied by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, FMS Delhi and XLRI Jamshedpur, in that order. The rankings were compiled on the basis of responses gathered from hundreds of MBA aspirants who ranked B-schools based on their perception of the B-school's brand. The B-schools in the report were spread out across the length and breadth of India - from Tiruchirappalli in the South to Mohali in the North, and Ahmedabad in the West to Shillong in the East.
Congratulations to the people who have made it this time! To the people who have had a heartbreak, all I can say is "Do not give up."
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), since 2016, has undertaken a project of establishing rankings for educational institutes in India under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) at the graduation and post-graduation level, including management institutes. Recently, the NIRF MBA Rankings 2019 have also been released by the MHRD.
