Entering into the gates to face the new challenge, getting your ID, and swiping to enter the hallowed premises of Capgemini, I was overwhelmed with mixed emotions. The feeling of euphoria, along with the anxiousness of stepping into the corporate world was enthralling.

Ashwamedh is the annual business conclave organized by X-ops, the Operations and Supply Chain Management Club of XIMB-XUB. We were honoured to have in our presence Mr. Ashutosh Mayank (Vice President, Lumis Partners), who spoke on the growth of IoT in the industry. Presenting the excerpts of an informal tête-à-tête, which we had with him post the conclave:
Under the Vaarta, 17 series of guest lectures, we recently had the privilege of hosting Mr. Vikram Singh, Vice President, Johnson and Johnson India (Medical Division). Mr. Singh who graduated as a doctor went on to complete his M.D in Internal Medicine. He graduated from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi and has since been associated with a number of roles within the pharmaceutical industry. He describes working in pharmaceutical’s his calling and subsequent area of expertise. The days topic was, “Making the right Career Choices” which was appropriately named.

Journey beyond MBA.. ahh.. feels like heaven indeed. At least that is what most of the MBA students along with the prospective ones would think. As far as we have experienced life so far, it seems to be a basic human nature to look beyond the present into the future, so a sneak peek into the lives of our seniors and alumni gives us the necessary opening for the same. It also helps us receive some worldly "gyaan", know the struggles involved and get inspired by the achievements of the alumni. The alumni can always guide the students about the real world events, situations and give a direction to the students' quest for knowledge. As the institute looks forward to the alumni for their guidance, I am sure the alumni also look forward to interacting more with the institute, and thereby, relive a part of their lives in the institute. Hence without further ado, I take this opportunity to introduce you all to Mr. Gaurav Gulati, an alumnus from IIM Trichy, who has kindly consented to share his experiences with us.
Rahul Jain joined Marico in 2010. In spite of coming from NITIE, Mumbai, a school known for producing some of the finest Supply Chain professionals, Rahul has made a remarkable career in FMCG Marketing. He started off as a Management Trainee and over the course of the next few years, did various stints across India. Today, 7 years later, he is the Senior Brand Manager for South East Asia working in Vietnam. We had a chat with him about Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, role transitions, challenges of working in a different country and more!
