At the outset, I'll be stating my assumption: most candidates view b-schools (primarily) as placement agencies (other attributes are secondary). It is very unlikely for a candidate to invest lacs of rupees in a degree with no job prospects. Certainly, no rational individual will take a huge educational loan if re-payment prospects (through great placements) are not assured.

I was absolutely overjoyed at the proposition of being a part of a premier business school based out of the financial capital of India and also my hometown.
The Student Syndrome, as opposed to popular perception, is planned procrastination. For instance, an employee works with full commitment and a mindset to finish his assignment only at the last possible minute before the deadline. This, at times, reduces the potential gains that could have been realized if the due effort was put in earlier. This happens mainly because the perceived value of doing something else outweighs the value of working now, putting one under stress and pressure at a later stage.
I came across this interesting term ‘GEM’ during my CAT preparation last year. It seems to be the most disadvantaged group during the MBA admissions. Going by available facts, it definitely seems true - general engineers (especially males) face the toughest competition when it comes to MBA admissions. But if you really ask me, interviews are agnostic of your prior degree - that if you know yourself, you will do well in your interviews If you have secured an interview with the top management schools of the country, I recommend you start preparing right away - after all you are one of the few coveted ones to have even received a call! And plus, acing an interview is very different from acing the CAT. I would broadly divide the interview preparation into 3 categories -
