There are very few institutions which have withstood the test of time and with every passing generation have re-invented themselves to never fade out of the public consciousness. When one thinks about such behemoths in the context of the Indian consumer market, the name of the Aditya Birla group immediately springs to mind.

The Apple Of My Father's Eye - Pratibha Goenka, MDI Gurgaon

From my very childhood, I wanted to do something different and fly high. My dreams at nights would mostly include me to suit up like my father and hold conferences. Belonging to a small town, it seemed very difficult and almost impossible. After all, daughters’ efforts were not very encouraged in my extended family.

My life has been a roller coaster ride so far. I have faced a lot of ups and downs in my journey. But the one thing which has helped me throughout my sojourn is the ability to believe in myself, no matter what circumstances I find myself in. Tough Times Never Last, Tough People Do! - Mukund Srinivasan, NMIMS Mumbai

I was quite academically sound in school, having received academic Incentive prize for 11 consecutive years. I slogged hard to get admitted into the prestigious NIT Nagpur eventually. However, during my 1st year of engineering, I became complacent, and all my excellence turned into mediocrity. I was losing confidence in myself. That was quickly reflected in my drastic drop in grades. But I realised that mediocrity and complacency are the most substantial challenges in my pursuit of excellence. I regained my interest in quizzing, prepared hard and went on to win multiple national level quizzing competitions by the time I completed my engineering. The primary lesson I learnt is that complacency always breeds mediocrity and steals one’s potential. To stay away from it, HUSTLE!

To have a successful life is good, but to have a successful life after challenges is the true victory. Our challenges make us who we are, because we learn, only when we make mistakes. One such challenge I faced during my 12th standard when I got into bad company and lost my focus towards my studies. I couldn’t clear the competitive exams and as a result of that I had to take a drop of one year for preparation. Having fallen down and lost it all, there seemed to be no hope for me.
