Celebrity Endorsements Scale A New Height - Views From Prabhakar

Celebrity Endorsements Scale A New Height - Views From Prabhakar

Yes, celebrity endorsements have scaled a new height. A new height of ridicule that is. Most people in New Delhi were stunned when they opened their morning newspaper to find a greying, bearded Pierce Brosnan in his role as James Bond holding a pack of Pan Bahar. The film shows Brosnan in the role of a Bollywood Bond, attacking crusaders a bit like Don Quixote, swishing his box of Pan Bahar like a sword. While a female Sancho Panza coyly looks on with admiration. The film ends with him taking the position of the Bollywood SPECTRE leader and dislodging him from his chair in a quick motion while his opponents bite the dust. A stunt that Bruce Lee would have found difficult to emulate. Brosnan ends it with 'Class never goes out of style'. Strange tagline for a product that is banned in many Indian states.

India's Most Gender Diverse Business Schools - IIM Indore & XLRI lead the way

There has been a growing clamour for more women in top managerial positions in Indian companies over the last few years. From a time just about 5 years back in 2011 when none of the top IIMs had even 20% women candidates, a lot of progress has been made. We may see things changing in the corporate board rooms in India in a few years. It is now common to see over 1/3rd women in many top business schools in India. We at InsideIIM only see this figure going up across schools in the coming years. It has become an important criteria to attract recruiters to one's business school as well.

5 Management Lessons From 'The Art Of War'

5 Management Lessons From 'The Art Of War'

When I was pursuing my Masters in Industrial Psychology, we had a guest lecture on ‘Lessons in Applied Psychology by Sun Tzu and Chanakya’. Somehow the lessons by Sun Tzu have stuck by. And it’s not only in the field of psychology that the principles of Sun Tzu can be incorporated but also in the area of business and service industry. What makes Sun Tzu’s principles so adaptable in all walks of life is the fact that it’s not the war literally that he is talking about but the conflict which we see in every aspect of our life. He addresses the art of conflict resolution, be it a war or the competitive business scenario.

Will This Be RBI's Last Rate Cut For This Fiscal Year - Finance Guru Tamal Bandyopadhyay Speaks

A quarter percentage point cut in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s policy rate was not unexpected (although the market was vertically divided, a few, including me, were expecting a rate cut) but it’s not obvious why the central bank has decided to bring down its policy rate to 6.25%, a six-year low. It’s also very likely that this will be the last rate cut for this fiscal year.
