Outside a convenience store in New Delhi, a boy not more than 12 years old sells balloons at Rs. 5 apiece at 12 in the night. Every time he sees a car pull over he dashes off, with a handful of balloons and a mouthful of saleable words. It’s an odd time to sell balloons. Most people who visit this convenience store past midnight are either too tired from the day or too excited about the night. Yet the boy lingers, in his scruffy clothes and dreamy eyes. Quite often he is accompanied by his posse, as they chase down every visitor, regardless of age, who chances upon that store. It isn’t very difficult to make out that this young boy is the captain of their team.

MBA: Lessons learned so far

Being an MBA in the making from a premier b-school is not an easy life to live. Expectations from family and friends run sky high. They look forward to a glorious transformation their son/daughter/friend will undergo while living within those proverbial four walls of the b-school. Seldom are they disappointed. Studying with a motley crowd in a b-school has its own advantages. Working in a group not only helps in understanding oneself better but also helps in knowing varied approaches to accomplish the same task.

MBA – A degree which can be interpreted in a thousand ways with all being correct at the same time. While some say that MBA is knowledge, experience, and money, some might go on and say that MBA is an internationally-recognized degree designed to develop the skills required for careers in business and management. Though most of us fall into the former category, the true meaning of MBA is unfathomable. Through my past year experience as an MBA student at FMS, I have tried to decode it.

My 1 year journey (PGPX @IIMA) has just come to an end and eyes turn misty as I brace myself to hand over the keys of MSH 901 to the facilities office and just move on with life. So what has been the NPV and IRR of this journey, asks the Chartered Accountant in me who had hirtherto been an EV/EBITDA and Free Cash Flow to Equity cruncher to the house of Tatas and Birlas

Nothingness redefined!!

Nothingness redefined!!

Sometimes I honestly contemplate upon the idea of becoming a writer!  Every next tom, dick and harry from an IIM, pens a book these days. You know, it has become the new 'it' thing, well, old 'it' thing for an IIM grad. When nothing goes my way, I at least write a book and bask in the glory! Please! Give me a break!
