Few of the most commonly considered factors before selecting a B-School are Placements, Peer Learning, Faculty, Infrastructure, Accessibility, Specialties, Gender Ratio, Student Exchange Programme, Flagship Events and Alumni network, not necessarily in that particular order. It is mostly subjective and one needs to get one’s priorities correct before homing into a school.
As a pioneer of imparting practical learning to its participants, IIM Indore organizes some unique activities, under the umbrella of what is very rightly dubbed as “Experiential Learning”. There are three programmes organized during the course of the two year PGP course, viz Himalayan Outbound Programme for the second year participants, Rural Immersion Programme and Industrial Visits for the first year participants.
In the last couple of months, there has been a spurt in my external speaking engagements on innovation. I am not sure why this is happening – perhaps its increasing optimism regarding the future, but it could be something more mundane like this being the preferred “season” for corporate events. Whatever the reason, it’s been fun to speak to a variety of audiences – a large multinational known for its print and imaging technologies; a leading public sector enterprise in defence electronics; a top global brand in denim; and a home-grown, pioneering consumer products company.
Many among us who pursue MBA either come from IT sector or wish to enter one. Irrespective of which industry you enter, IT will always play a crucial role. As IT continues to evolve, new aspects have started to surface that need understanding. Data Privacy is one among them. Through this article I try to explore the status of Privacy in India.

Beginning last year, most of the banks and institutes began to conduct online bank exams for candidates wanting to acquire jobs in banks and wanting to make a career in the banking industry/sector. With the increasing ratio of the number of applicants per year versus the number of available vacancies per year across India, the test conductors found it to be more feasible to conduct online bank exams for all candidates in hundreds of centers across India, as compared to conducting written exams using the pen-and-paper format. On the up side, online exams are convenient and comfortable for the candidates as well – since it makes it very easy to navigate through questions and handle them more efficiently – with the only exception being those candidates who have zero knowledge about using computers, and those who have never been exposed to the operations and functionality of computers.
