Don't Let The CAT Prep Subdue Your Life | Shivam Jha, CAT 2019 99%iler

As a GEM Fresher candidate, an enormously overrepresented demographic at B-Schools, I was hounded from the beginning by all the people around me. I was told that you need to have an exceptional CAT score and stellar academics to make it through, given how cut-throat the competition is in your pool. And as someone who had 4 backlogs in his first year, this definitely did not feel like an appealing path to tread.

From Leaving A Big 4 To Making It To XLRI Jamshedpur | Udipti Kashyap, PGDM HRM '22

"Life is not exactly about planning, rather handling unprecedented turns with a calm mind." - My Dad Studying in a coveted engineering college (DCE) and then bagging a Big 4 company in the first month of placement season felt like a smooth sailing career-wise. I had a full 3 months to set my CAT 2018 preparation back on track but as things start becoming all nice and cosy human mind tends to get complacent. Obviously I didn't fare well in CAT or IIFT or XAT because that back-up was always there and it was good enough! Fast forward to June 2019- Got my location to be Bangalore, recuperating from jaundice and father's haemoglobin went spiralling down for which blood transfusion was suggested. Despite a million requests my location was not changed to Gurgaon office, which tbh broke my heart.

I had my XAT Paper the next day, so I tried to gather myself and focus on the same, but the ship had sailed. Right from that day until the one where I gave my interview, the whole journey was one roller coaster ride.
