Anti-Obesity Walk

Anti-Obesity Walk

Anti-Obesity Day is observed on 26th of November in various parts of the world. India is one of the top ten obese countries in the world, with approximately 5% of the population being classified as morbidly obese. The levels of obesity are on the rise, given India’s economic development, rising incomes of the middle class and increased availability of highly processed junk food. In order to raise awareness and to attempt to tackle this grave issue, Johnson & Johnson in association with the Jayashree Todkar Foundation organized an anti-obesity walk at Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) in collaboration with Samatva, the institute social responsibility cell of SCMHRD.

65 Topics To Help You Crack The WAT Round

65 Topics To Help You Crack The WAT Round

WAT checks a candidate’s ability to put their thought coherently and logically. Here one important thing is that if you try to put many thought processes in a small essay, which could make it multi-directional, and that essay may not convey a logical conclusion. It is advisable to limit 2-4 strong ideas in a 300 words essay. Usually, time given for WAT vary from 10-30 minutes, and the number of words required could be from 200-400 words (one side to one and a half side of an A4 size paper). Before you start to write the essay, give 2-5 minutes to make a mental picture of what you are going to write. Write your ideas in the rough work, select the top 3-4 ideas, and write it. Most importantly, finish writing 1-2 minutes earlier to recheck your essay before final submission. For idea generation, when you get the topic, look it with different perspectives, and consider the most immanent perspective to the topic.

Learning Together At IIM Kashipur

‘’Nervous, legs shaking, head a bit heavy, as you are at your wit’s end, not sure what to do and how to progress when you are going to face your first examination of your MBA life, the midterms of the first semester. “Ting!” rings a familiar ring of your mobile phone indicating an email notification. I pick up the phone and there it is, a ray of hope amidst all the darkness of confusion and fear. Unlocking my phone and I read the mail, “A peer learning session has been scheduled. The venue is so and so” I breathe a sigh of relief. I continue with studying the basic concepts for the next few hours and ready with my doubts, I head out to attend the peer learning session. I notice I am not alone and soon the classroom fills with the students. I see my own classmate, in the middle of the room, my eyes usually habitual of seeing a faculty there blink a little. But, this time it’s a bit different. It’s not a position of power but it’s more about having a reciprocal and collaborative session. Soon, he starts and explains all the concepts clearly, one by one and then followed by a doubt solving session. Some more peers of my batch join him and start solving each other’s doubts. With most of the doubts solved and the confidence level at a much higher level, I head back to my room with a bunch of my friends, we continue our discussion and solving each other’s doubts, we meet in the common room and resume our studies.’’
