Why two consultants from IIM Indore decide to take a pay cut and join a startup? Was MBA just a safety net? What happens when you join an IIM without any aim?
Most people dream of becoming an entrepreneur/starting up a venture or strive for coming out of a paycheck-to-paycheck life. Many of those dreams are sustained through B-schools as well. My story is a little different; I chose to dream and act on it earlier.
"Now I've had the time of my life. Yes, I swear it's the truth."
Unlike the popular opinion held by adults (and by adults I mean mostly my parents), Harry Potter is not just a children’s fantasy book. Just like we gradually grow older and more mature, the need for money changes from buying popsicles to buying a house or a car; similarly, the books start making more sense and become more relatable when reading at different phases of our lives.
Orientation Being a fresher, I was all geared up for my first in-depth corporate experience with a conglomerate of this stature. With butterflies in my stomach, I entered the Ferrero Office in Pune, to be welcomed by the Sr. HR Executive Ms. Priya, who was responsible for the orientation as well as being the SPOC for the coming 9 weeks.
Some of the world's most valuable and desirable companies belong to the Technology and E-Commerce industries, and across B-schools, these companies have gained significant prominence amongst all MBA stakeholders who view the Apples, the Amazons, the Googles of the world as highly attractive career opportunities. In this part of the Alumni Report series, we take a look at the concentration of alumni of top B-schools across top companies in the Technology & E-Commerce industries and identify trends, if any.
