It’s that time of the year again when we start getting the interview calls from our dream B-schools. I was in the same shoes last year and had final converts from some good colleges like MDI Gurgaon, IIM Trichy/Rohtak/Udaipur and DMS, IIT Delhi. Choosing the best among them based on my expectations and credentials was a very difficult choice. Before going further, let me begin by describing my background before joining MBA.
I was a starry-eyed kid when I joined my first job. Fresh out of college, we were a bunch of motivated millennials who were excited to work in their dream company. Setting foot for the first time in a swanky office of an MNC made us jittery. We were all wondering how we will fit in with these professionals!
It’s that time of the year when hundreds of MBA aspirants will be joining their dream institutes after a year of heart-wrenching and mind-boggling sessions of QA, VA, LR and the most coveted & feared PIs.
‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.’
When I arrived in Lucknow, I realized the growth this place has to offer, but I also soon realized the competition that came with it. I had heard that a fresher with such a short CV would not get the kind of company he wants. But I have never been one to take things for granted.
With 2 lakh+ candidates appearing for CAT this year, the number has been on the rise ever since. Out of lakhs of test takers, only 5,000 make it to the prestigious and coveted IIMs. That’s like the cream of the country - a mere 2%.
