From Bombay To Boston: 125 Days At SPJIMR GMP

It was 20th of April; I was at my office desk, doing some regular stuff, when an e-mail popped up, with the subject ‘Offer Letter’. As an applicant to many Global Masters programs, I was excited and opened it instantly. It read ‘Congratulations! You are admitted into the Global Management Programme at SPJIMR and are also accepted for the MAief Program at Brandeis IBS, Boston with a merit scholarship’. I was elated. But, hardly had I come to terms with that jubilation, a second e-mail arrived a few days later, asking me to complete a set of pre-requisite courses before the orientation day, one month hence.

NMAT 2018 - A Comprehensive Analysis

NMAT 2018 (Day 1, Slot 1 - 4 Oct, 9 a.m.) mostly stuck to a predictable pattern. There was hardly any surprise. Question wise, the paper was very similar to CL mock papers. There were three sections with no negative marking. A student had the choice of deciding the sequence of sections. There were no technical glitches and the experience was quite pleasant. Compared to last year, the one major change in the Language Skills section was the fewer number of vocabulary questions. There were only three very easy vocabulary questions. The number of analogy questions increased a bit. The Reading Comprehension passages were lengthy and even the options were tedious to read.

The College-Corporate Chronicle: My Fieldwork Story At TISS

With the first stint of fieldwork ending for the first semester students of HRM & LR at TISS Mumbai, there cannot be better time to have a dear diary moment and talk about my first ever experience in the corporate way of life with Larsen and Toubro Infotech (LTI) here in Mumbai. As a fresher, every student has fancy about their first day at a new job: a straight entry gate into the gate of the adult life. As is obvious, mine was no different. Mondays and Tuesdays were now booked for the purpose of fieldwork every week, and I had a dual identity of a student and a professional (also literally so since I had an organisational and TISS ID card!)
