MHRD's National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has come out with the rankings for 2018. After I had a look at the rankings, my first reaction was of confusion, which then turned into that of scepticism. I immediately went on to LinkedIn to see what the reaction of various Alumni was to these rankings. I came across a few people questioning the discrepancies between the NIRF rankings and those done by other agencies. In this article, I will try and answer the all-important question: How reliable are these rankings?

One year and wow! That was precisely my reaction, after my last exam of Trimester 3. I still remember the picture of me bidding goodbye to my friends. Not a good sight, but there was a lot of excitement within. Excitement for the upcoming 2 months. I bid farewell to all my friends before we could all walk on the road of our dreams. That’s when it all flashed like a recap to me.

Well, it has always been a dilemma for working professionals who are considering doing MBA for a career jump. We will try to find an answer to this question in this article. After completing my graduation with flying colours, I was keen to get a job in core mechanical field itself. And, so I did, I was working as an R&D Engineer and handling some huge projects (One of them was for Sukhoi). But as we all know, in India we don’t get much respect with just a BE degree. I saw the growth was stagnant and then I realised that an MBA degree would push my career up. However, I never hated my job. It would be great if I could get the degree and knowledge of an MBA while working. Now I know that it was possible with a Part-Time MBA degree.
