All those midnight candles burnt, missed weekend parties, Television shows, lazy Sundays etc. would be back to you in less than a month! (at least temporarily until you begin your PI/GD preparations). Trust me, I have been there, and I know how exhausting this final phase is! You almost want to give up, but you know that you have done too much to give up right now.

“You know that chip that you have in your mobile, that you use to upgrade the ‘RAM’, as you call it, to increase its speed when you play games? Well, I used to design its circuit!” I explained to my best friend at IIM Lucknow, who keeps forgetting what exactly I did as an R&D Engineer, and confuses me with “some IT/software/computer stuff” in her words.
Three months into the course and I am still trying to figure that out. Is it about learning financial accounting in a month, or about those intense classroom discussions which leave you mentally drained but gratified? Is it about making a submission for a competition two minutes prior to the deadline or about winning the tug of war match with the team that you formed a day before Microeconomics exam? Is it about those occasional two cups of ‘garam chaai’ (if you are a tea person, one is never enough) at ‘Kaliya’ (a street shop just outside campus) or is it just all about that quiet night walk (evening walks are almost a myth in a b-school) by the campus lakeside just letting everything happening around you sink in? What is it really about?
It’s that time of the year when the Summer Internship processes of various b-schools all over India are winding up. After reminiscing about the gruelling term packed with placement preparation and getting used to the academic schedule in b-schools, the first years are now left with one question that they seem to be asking themselves -
As the third batch of IIM Sirmaur gears up for the summer placements, the newly-inducted members of the Institute’s Media team pour their hearts out while looking back at their journey through the first three months at IIM Sirmaur.
With less than a month for the CAT exam to go, it is that time of the year when the preparation and advice will be at the peak just like the building pressure. But this is the time to go the smart way and keep aside the thick books and focus on giving more mocks and revising concepts rather than learning new.
