The E.L.I.T.E. Welcome: A 5-Week Journey Of Onboarding And Learning At Capgemini

On 12th June 2017 at 9.00 AM IST, 19 freshly out MBA graduates were standing shocked inside the security office at the main entrance of Capgemini financial district campus in Hyderabad. A group of 10-15 people including the E.L.I.T.E. core team was there to welcome them. The ID cards were ready. The training room was open with the E.L.I.T.E. welcome kit on the assigned desks. It also included our business cards-the highlight of the day for me. The joining paperwork was quickly done. By afternoon we had our laptops with us. The day ended with welcome dinner at The Hyatt where we got an opportunity to interact with seniors and leaders. What a welcome! What followed was a 5-week onboarding process which was enriching, exciting, overwhelming and fun.

How To Prepare For CAT And XAT While Working - Aroon's Journey To XLRI Jamshedpur

Is this your last attempt at CAT/XAT or other management exams? If yes, I was in a similar position a year ago. After having failed twice, convincingly, at all the management exams, I decided to make one last attempt. Surprisingly, in my first attempt at CAT in 2013, I scored a decent 96.2 percentile. I still don’t know how. I did not appear for the XAT in 2014 because I was sure I was going to fail miserably if I decided to take it. I was scared partly because of all the puffery around it as being the toughest management entrance exam.

Is It A Right Career Choice To Leave A PSU Bank Job And Go For MBA? - Sasikanth Akhilesh's Journey To DoMS IIT Roorkee

It finally came down to doing a well-settled bank job against an MBA from the prestigious DoMS, IIT Roorkee. And that too during these turbulent times for the Indian market after GST and Demonetisation. However, MBA was a dream in the backburner and I felt it was the time I go for it after having worked for three and a half years in IT and Finance industries. I belong to a middle-class family. My father who worked as a Marketing Manager was the only breadwinner. He was my role-model and had inspired me for so long. The way he established himself in the corporate world while having a rural background had created an everlasting image in my mind and planted seeds for pursuing the MBA.
