However, on this particular Saturday Morning, it was the venue for a unique event and the second offline workshop that InsideIIM - Konversations held for all MBA Aspirants. Rockstars from Colgate, Vodafone, Moet Hennessy and InsideIIM enthralled aspirants with stories from their life, campus and their work.
A wise man once said there is only one way to lead a fulfilled professional life, “Find out what you like doing best and get paid for doing it.” Hence one of the most important decisions a student has to take is making the right career choice. It will not only determine how passionate he will be towards his work but also eventually challenge the status quo in order to gain excellence. To help students explore Operations as a function, Marico organised an Operations Bootcamp - a workshop aimed at building students’ perspective towards what they can expect when they select a career path in operations of an FMCG firm. The Bootcamp provided a one of its kind experience for the students in terms of knowledge sharing and a platform for an interaction with Marico’s luminaries, such as the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Reading comprehension (RC) is an important component of CAT. What is even more interesting is that it is the only part of the exam for which you don’t need to mug any formula, memorise any data or learn any rules. 25th June’17 – In a brightly lit auditorium, one of the most professional groups of individuals introduced themselves to the whole new bunch of first years brimming with curiosity. Thus, the Toastmasters IIM Ranchi made their first public appearance during the induction program. A brief presentation by them and two open to the floor table topics later, I made up my mind to join this club. Chartered on 30th October’13, this independent body has made its mark in the hall of fame of District 41 – the Distinguished Club Award in 2014-15 and the Fantastic Five Award in 2016.
MBA. The three letters that instantly compel you to imagine a polished personality donning a classy suit, crunching numbers on a spreadsheet and taking strategic decisions. Although it might be a convincingly accurate picture of what MBA graduates usually end up doing, there are many myths around MBA and its preparation that are prevalent among the aspirants. I will try to debunk the three most common myths, and I hope that by the end of this article, you will have a holistic view of MBA and the right picture of the preparation for its entrance examinations.
It was a regular day at Moody’s, just like any other day that went by crunching numbers. It was late and I was engrossed with my work, with little shares of a laugh in between. Amidst the serenity of the work and the occasional chit-chat, my phone vibrated to the tone of an incoming e-mail. This email had come in from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, informing me that I had been selected to represent India for the India-China Youth Dialogue 2017. And that moment changed it all. I sprung up from my seat, declaring the news to my co-interns and my mentor. They all wished me the best for my first trip beyond the borders of India!
Indian Institute of Management Rohtak organised a management summit at Chelmsford Club, New Delhi on 9th September, 2017. The theme of the summit, ‘Crossroads: Paradox of Choice’, attempted to counter the idea that having too many choices is a good thing. The summit was attended by dignitaries from various industry sectors as well as the media.
