A Silver Lining In The End? - Life At A B-School
As per the general lingo, adapted for a B-School environment, "Everything that shines isn't a B-School". Is that true?

Being a fresher we always view the world as a place full of opportunities. I was not any different from that. While preparing for CAT the thought of joining a new IIM never even crossed my mind. After the results, I had calls from IIM Indore and the Common Admission Process (CAP). It was quite probable for me that I'd go for IIM Indore if I converted it, else I'd go for workex and take CAT again. But the predictability of CAT is always an issue when one is considering for aiming for it, it's not just the test which would make you succeed. A whole list of factors come attached to the probability of you getting into an IIM of your choice apart from just the test. Although I had planned to go for workex a thought popped into my mind about the new IIMs which led me to do my research for them.
If I tell you that you can still have her, would you start looking for her? Will you tell her that you missed her all this time? Would you confess your love for her, finally?
At around 6 AM on a Monday morning, in the month of July 2018, I found myself among the bustling crowd of the city’s most hyperactive market place, the ‘Koyembedu Wholesale Market Complex’ (KWMC), interviewing few 2-Wheeler owners in my mother tongue.
It has been only 45 days since I joined campus, but I am already in love with its greenery and architecture. But the most disheartening fact about any IIM is that even though it’s beautiful you won’t be having any time to enjoy its beauty.
Since I embarked on my journey to pursue an MBA, it has been full of rejections. In making it to my current position as a student at XLRI, I have had more rejections than acceptances. While dealing with rejections myself, I have seen many smart students deal with their share of rejections as well.
They say change is the only constant. The same happened to me about a month back when I had to shift to start my MBA here at IIM Indore. New girl to the city, to the hostel life, to an MBA program. It was all completely different. From the fact of going to eat by myself to prepare for the class on the following day, none of it I’d done before. I’ve never been good at accepting changes and I go through a series of denial before I start accepting it. Life at Indore was no different.
I interned with Dell Technologies, Bengaluru during the summer. It was a wonderful experience and I thank Dell for providing me the opportunity. I interned with the finance team of the “Commercial” department at Dell. My role at Dell was related to creating parameters and tools to monitor the performance and produce insights to increase the return on investment for the company. The internship acted as a bridge between the academic world and the real world. I got the chance to apply most of what I learnt during the first year of MBA.
