IIMs were conceptualised with the idea of honing the business skills of Indian students. Although a vast majority prefer taking placements in multi nationals post PGDM, there are a few who embark on their entrepreneurial journey. The below article is a descriptive interview of one such journey!
There are many smart B-Schoolers who finish their MBA with minimal effort. They are extremely ROI focussed and know when to push the boundaries and rest of the time they conserve their energy and wait for the right times to fight. Let us give you an example,

The first term of a business school is hectic. This cannot be stressed enough. With resume finalisation, academic workload, cultural orientation sessions, college festivals, competitions, and a million other things to occupy one's mind, it easy to feel over-encumbered and lost among choices. Proactively preparing for the coming terms in the months leading up-to joining date makes the transition much easier.
Anyone who prepares to enter a b-school does so with sky-high expectations. Having been an aspirant myself, I also expected something out of the blue that would transform me into a suave manager in college. A typical b-school is expected to deliver on the promise of building leadership qualities, developing oratory skills, team coordination, ability to prioritize and above all the burning desire to make an impact that lasts.
As I set out on a journey of reflecting upon the plethora of twists and turns life has presented throughout, an oft-quoted dictum reverberates at the back of my mind, “You can’t blend in when you are born to stand out.” And what utility does a complacent life offer? Nothing, right! Ultimately, life should be the process of realising those aims that direct you towards establishing a distinguished individuality and innate uniqueness, simultaneously carving out a niche for yourself in the ever-so ephemeral environment. This piece primarily focusses upon a range of perspectives that constantly evolve as a result of experiences galore in motion, here my undergrad and the decision to pursue MBA and the transition in-between.

As the cab entered the gates of Khelgaon Housing Complex on 15th June’17, I peered out of the front seat car window with eyes full of anticipation and anxiety for what lies in store for me in the next two years. Fast forward one and a half month, I am already done with my midterm exams today as I start pondering on my journey till here. Not much before, on a pleasant day in May, the Gods decided to smile upon me and grant my wish of converting IIM Ranchi in the first list. And now I am here sitting in my room at 2:30 am contemplating on it. So, you must be considering me as insane, thinking who sits up till 2:30 am to start writing an article when you have the whole weekend ahead. My dear friends, this is the consequence of having sleepless nights since 17th June’17 and now if you get a single night with a somewhat lesser load of work, you remain awake till 4 am – not because you are in love, but because you have become a nocturnal mammal.
