Institute Of National Importance - IFMR was established in 1970 as a not-for profit society by ICICI, the House of Kotharis and other major industrial groups. IFMR is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (Ministry of Finance) and Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by Government of India.
You must have met the archetypal quizzer. The one whose eyes light up with sheer joy when (s)he works out a question; who can come up with seemingly obscure facts and make it sound like perfectly common knowledge. It’s easy to spot a quizzer in a group as the one who makes a pop culture reference and high-fives a friend who has absolutely no idea what the reference was about. Often, quizzers are found in pairs with pompous self-endowed titles (some too vulgar to be mentioned in print).
TEDx – Before I came to XIMB, it was something that I had just heard of and never experienced. My friends used to say that it is a great event with great speakers and speeches that leave the audience enthralled and in awe. I questioned this, and wondered, what is so different about this event? Whenever I thought about it or imagined the event, all I could picturise was drab, monotonous speeches that went on for hours – something that was a regular affair at my school assemblies. Little did I know that this was something way different!
