Strong growth in PGDM placements in 2017, at end of Placement week. (11 December 2017)
IIM Nagpur completed the summer placement process for its third batch of students enrolled in its flagship Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP 2017-19) on the 3rd of January, 2018. More than fifty recruiters, including many first time participants, from across sectors like FMCG, Analytics, IT Consulting, BFSI, Consumer Durables, Logistics, Media and Broadcasting, participated in the process. Prominent recruiters included VLCC, GroupM, Yes Bank, ICICI Lombard, BPCL, TATA Power, Blue Star, Sutherland Global, Capacloud, TVS, Mahindra Logistics, Gati, and Reliance Jio Studios, among many others. This year IIM Nagpur witnessed enthusiastic participation from the social sector as well. Notably, Tata Trusts and Teach for India participated in the recruitment process. Further, Nagpur being the logistics hub of the country, many logistics companies expressed keen interest in fostering strong long-term relationships with IIM Nagpur.

There was always a mystique related to sales for me. How do you actually go and get business? And then once you have a client, how do you proactively grow the business and make sure that your existing engagements are being managed well? So many moving parts, different priorities, different internal and external stakeholders to manage. It all seemed a bit overwhelming. When our first rotation started (after our unforgettable trip to Les Fontaines, France of course!), I found out that I would get the opportunity to really get a hands-on experience working with the Global Account Executive for a Large European Bank as well as the Sales team in Bangalore.

HSBC has been a regular recruiter at IFMR for Financial Engineering graduates but unlike the last few years, they offered ‘Risk Analyst’ role to Finance graduates as well. I was fortunate enough to get shortlisted for it and was interviewed for the same.
