KPMG offered two roles this year - Financial Risk Management (FRM) and Information Technology Advisory (ITA). I was interested in FRM role and was fortunate enough to get shortlisted and interviewed for the same.
It’s final placement season and the anonymous apps and meme pages have become extremely active. One popular meme/post that does the rounds every year in every college is the “Best PoR on campus” post. To everyone who acclaims the best PoR on campus is a placecommer’s girlfriend/boyfriend, you do not want that PoR even if it got you a 1cr package. Let’s first talk about the advantages, since everyone’s completely convinced there’s only pros and no possible cons.
While writing this article, my mind suddenly went back to the day, when I was applying for the HSBC placement process. I remember that day, especially because HSBC, provides one of the best roles to all FE students in IFMR, the entire batch was looking forward to it. Before starting my interview experience let me share with you the profile which was offered to us. HSBC came up with 2 profiles this year to our campus, Quants Analyst – Global Banking and Markets for students of Financial Engineering specialization and Risk Analyst – Market and Traded Credit Risk for the students majoring in Finance. Being an FE student, I applied for Quants Analyst profile, the dream profile for every FE student in this institution.
Hush! Finally, it's over! I wouldn't want to be in that phase of my life again (though, I might need to go face it once more). I am not talking about exams or even a break-up. I am talking about the main reason for which a person joins a good b-school: Placements (In my case, Summers!)
The 53rd batch of MMS, the flagship course of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), one of the premier B-schools in the country, carried forward the legacy of the Institute and successfully concluded yet another Summer Placement season. The Institute once again provided a great platform to foster a symbiotic relationship between its students and the corporates. The talent pool that JBIMS offered attracted both traditional and new recruiters who hired in large numbers across various sectors.

Ever imagined an interview where you believe you performed exceptionally poor and fear that the performance would leave a mark in your memory for a long time, but the interviewers liked you for your honesty and persistence. Ever imagined that you answered "No" twice to the question - "If you put yourself in our shoes, then do you still believe we should select you based on your interview performance?" and still they announce a "Yes" in the verdict. Truth is stranger than fiction indeed. Let me tell you the story of my interview experience during summers in detail.
