The placement season undoubtedly brings out the best of the characters in a typical hostel setup at a b-school. People say MBA is a very grim, competitive setup right from day 1 to the day of placements. Although I’m not going to deny that being true, but the intensity of this competitive spirit comes in crests and troughs. College events and festivities bring out the camaraderie between batch-mates, not to mention days spent in rooms packed beyond capacity, ignored in a drunken stupor. And more often than not the intense competition and the heavy air of uncertainty is subdued, and kept aside for certain days. These days are the ones for placements.

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar witnessed yet another fruitful summer internship placement week, with over 80 organizations visiting the campus. Apart from the regular recruiters, which XIMB has always cherished, various new and emerging market leaders have also participated and offered coveted profiles to the MBA-BM and MBA-HRM students over a variety of domains.

Strong Corporate Connect Boosts Placements At IMT Hyderabad
Unlike many top b-school campuses, where slowdown effect has been felt in the placements due to demonetization, the placement scenario at Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, looks to be good. Strong corporate connect is seen as the major differentiator. IMT Hyderabad engages with members of the corporate world through several initiatives. Practitioners and business leaders play an integral part in course development and delivery and 15% sessions in regular courses are taken by business leaders from industry to familiarise the students with the real-time business scenario. It also brings together corporate executives to compete in various sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball etc. in the 30-acre campus situated near the International Airport in Hyderabad.

IIM Ahmedabad commenced their Final Placement Process on February 13th, 2017 for the class of 2017. IIM A follows a cluster cohort placement process wherein companies offering similar profiles are grouped into cohorts, and several cohorts are invited to the campus in a particular cluster. IIM Trichy has concluded the summer placement process for the 2016-18 batch of PGP (Post Graduate Program in Management) students with a 56% increase in the highest domestic stipend offered (compared to the previous year). The average stipend offered for the internship period was Rs. 53,030 and the highest domestic offer was Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
