We know how summer internships are for you. You you've got it, why not flaunt it? We will run this LIVE blog for two months - while your internship is going on. Doing something interesting? Let others know! Had a bad day at work? Rant about it. Vent it out. Made some mistake and learnt from it? Stop others from making the same mistake? Know some cool hack to make the internship life easier? Don't be selfish and share it with others! Want to be anonymous? We will ensure that as well.
IIM Trichy successfully completed the final placements for the PGP (Post Graduate Programme in Management) 2015-17 batch, with the highest domestic CTC of Rs 33 Lakh, a 39% increase over last year’s highest CTC of Rs 23.81 Lakh.
Let’s imagine a job hunter who had three or four job interviews each day. He started early in the morning and finished late in the evening and through the day one recruiter after the other rejected him. Being a recent college graduate with no work experience is a quite obvious reason. For the next few months, his applications were constantly rejected and promised offer letters were never sent to him. The key to his future success is that he didn’t give up. He changed and improved his resume based on the feedback he got from hiring managers, and he continued to schedule job interviews until he finally landed a federal job that was suitable for him.
I walk through the empty halls of the college, the abandoned basketball court, the silent mess and the lonely common room. It’s the end of the first year and everyone has left for their internship, a handful of us are left as we are the last ones to leave, the hostel feels haunted and there is a deathly silence, we watched our friends leaving, packing their bags, bidding goodbyes, excited, sad and curious all at once.
By April, most of the Management colleges declare their converts list. With this, many aspirants are buoyed with joy as they get the college of their choice, while many others are left to choose between two almost equally good colleges. While rankings consider many different parameters to judge a b-school, comparing placements is the single most important factor for aspirants.
