The participants of IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus got an opportunity to interact with Ms. Ashu Khanna- Founder President of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Mumbai Chapter- as she addressed the topic “Declutter to be a masterful leader”.
On 11th August 2016, Vinod Gupta School of Management IIT Kharagpur had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Subhashis Basu, Business Head, Dairy Products, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. for a guest lecture. Mr. Basu is also a member of the FMCG Committee in Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the two member Standing Committee for Marketing in Indian Chapter of International Dairy Federation (IDF). He is an astute, strategic, results-oriented business leader with year after year verifiable track record of over 2 decades in directing operations both in Indian & international markets , involving conceptualization, setting up and strategic management of Profit Centres in FMCG Sector.

Cognizant of this fact, IIM Rohtak organized its 8th HR Summit on 20th August, 2016 with the theme, “Evolving roles of HR in organizations”. The event was flagged off by Dr. Atanu Rakshit, Director of IIM Rohtak, who remarked that competition, innovation and technology drive HR practices today.
The Government ended all the speculation by appointing Dr Urjit R Patel as the next Governor of RBI who will succeed our rock star Governor Raghuram Rajan. In this crucial juncture of economy where most of the analysts (and the entire country) would have loved to see Raghuram continuing his second term, Urjit Patel was an obvious pick among all the probable choices. I support his appointment on the basis of following arguments.

Globalisation, pollution, degradation and deforestation all have a common root cause-Excessive and unnecessary greed of man. However, lately we have realised the importance of protecting this planet and that our future can only be saved if we can save the nature. The clarion has been blown and the onus lies on each and every one of us to give our bit in trying to rectify the problem, we caused. Here comes the concept of sustainable development.
The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) welcomed Ms. Prachi Garg to conduct a lecture on the topic of the “Challenges women entrepreneurs face and how to cope up with them”. Ms. Garg is the founder of www.ghoomophiro.com, a start-up that helps in curating corporate tours. She has also delivered workshops on entrepreneurship. Her start-up has been covered extensively in the media. The lecture was organized by the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of IIM T.
IIM Ranchi successfully hosted the first sports meet of the eastern IIMs – ‘Ignatia’. Enthusiastic participation was seen from IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore and IIM Raipur. For two days the air was heavily loaded with excitement, energy and competitiveness with each team displaying excellent athleticism and sporting abilities to claim the first trophy of Ignatia. It was a cocktail of exhilarating performances, great sportsmanship and camaraderie, even more enhanced by the pleasant climate of Ranchi. The event was well supported and sponsored by Central Coalfields Limited, Central Bank of India, Medica Ranchi and Khanaman.
