IIFT started their headstart guest lecture series with the FMCG giant HUL on 1st March 2016. Mr. Sanjiv Mehta talked about his journey from being a little boy from Mumbai who wanted to be a cricketer to becoming the CEO of biggest FMCG Company in India.
The eminent economist, Prof Jean Drèze, visited IIM Ranchi to deliver a lecture on the topic "Social Policy in Comparative Perspective" in the context of his research area i.e. Developmental Economics.
The 1st edition of A-Square, IIM Amritsar’s management conclave, is scheduled to take place on March 5th, 2016 at Holiday Inn Amritsar. The one-day long event anticipates an active participation from corporate and academic fronts. Prominent industry leaders such as Mr. Rupak Agarwal,Business head,Godrej Properties, Mr. Pankaj Dubey, MD Polaris India, Mr. Milan Agnihotri Chief catalyst- creative Leo Burnett, Mr. Avnish Sabrawal, MD Accenture, Mr. Ashish Gupta, Partner Taxes, KPMG, Mr. Ajit Singh VP, HR Encore Capital Group, Mr. Saurabh Dasgupta, Executive Creative Director, Innocean Worldwide India, Mr. Basant Maheshwari, Investor, Author, Co- founder & Partner at Basant Maheshwari Wealth Advisers and more are scheduled to speak at the event. We have nine teams in the Students’ Council; the Aspirant Relations Team, Alumni Team, Corporate Interface Team, Co-Curricular Team, Information Systems and Media Relations Team, Placement Advisory Team, Research and Scholastic Development Team, Social Entrepreneurship and Consulting Cell and Sports Management Team. Each team has a coordinator, and the coordinators make up the Executive Council. The chair of the Executive Council is the Students’ Council President. The President is chosen from the Junior Team of any one of the council teams, and any member of said teams is entitled to stand for the position. The President is the link between the Executive Council and the Director of SIBM Pune. Another important role of the President is to represent the students and forward their suggestions and grievances to the Director.
