22 October 2018: The students of the one-year Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) and the Public Policy Club of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at IIM Bangalore announce the launch of ‘Utthan’, a public policy summit, to be held at IIMB on 11 November 2018.

22 October 2018: Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman and Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, Narayana Group of Hospitals, Bengaluru, has been appointed Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Bangalore. The decision was taken by the Board of Governors of IIM Bangalore, at its 167th meeting held on October 09 (Tuesday), 2018.
PRIVITTI is a business finance conclave conducted by Xavier School of Commerce and InfinX, which intends to give the students of Masters of Business Finance (MBF) insights into the burning issues faced by the financial sector. The theme for Privitti 2018 was “Indian Banks: Past Reflections and Future Ambitions”. We have with us Rajan Mithra, Coordinator of InfinX, the functional committee of Master of Business Finance program to share his remarkable experience with us.
Xamboree’18, the annual cultural and management fest of XUB is now over, leaving us with a happiness hangover. There is relief at how successfully our fest was conducted, pride at the effort and vigour that all of us put in, but also a longing for the camaraderie and absorbing purposefulness that had consumed the entire university in the weeks leading up to Xamboree.
IIM Shillong paid tribute to the missile man of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam on 15th October 2018 on the occasion of his 87th birth anniversary. The event was preceded with a fun-filled day organized under the Nurturing Minds initiative for school children present from in and around the campus on the 13th October, followed by special screening of his documentary offered by National Geographic.
On the 3rd of October, 2018, the students of Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur had the privilege of hosting Mr. RS Rajan, Co-Founder & Director at Livpure Private Ltd. for a Guest Lecture on “Contemporary Leadership”. A visionary with a passion of leaving behind a safer environment for the next generations, Mr. Rajan has focused on delivering superior water purification systems for home and commercial use across India. Mr. Rajan has been honoured with the Water-Hall-of-Fame award for his exemplary contribution to the industry in a career spanning over three decades.
The Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur had the privilege of hosting Mr Procyon Mukherjee, Chief Procurement Officer – India, LafargeHolcim on 23rd August 2018 under the ‘Vaarta’ guest lecture series. Mr Mukherjee has worked in leadership positions across India and Europe in various capacities in Manufacturing, including Merger & Acquisition, Strategic Management, Supply Chain Management and Project Management across diverse industries such as Philips India, Indian Aluminium Company, Hindalco and Novelis. Apart from being a manufacturing leader, Mr Mukherjee is an avid reader, writer and social thinker. He leveraged this to connect with the millennials in the crowd.
